What is the Starter Loan?
The Starter Loan offers starters on the owner-occupied housing market the opportunity to borrow just that little bit extra in a responsible manner. This makes that one special house possible.
The Starter Loan bridges the difference between the price of the house (up to a maximum of the Loan to Value) and the (first) mortgage from the bank.
The Starter Loan consists of two parts:
- A loan portion that is repaid in annuity terms: the Starter Loan.
- A loan portion that increases: the Combination Loan.
For both parts, you have no monthly payments for the first 3 years. You 'pay' the repayment of your Starter Loan for the first 3 years with the Combination Loan. The Combination Loan therefore always increases for the first 3 years. After this period of 3 years, you (in principle) pay interest and repayment. At the moment that you pay the full interest and/or repayment, you repay both the Starter Loan and the Combination Loan. The Stimuleringsfonds Volkhuisvesting (SVn) offers consumers and companies loans to realize their wishes in the field of living and working. One of these loans is the Starter loan, which was introduced in 2002. At the moment, 234 municipalities and five housing corporations offer the Starter Loan. How does the Starter Loan actually work? Which municipalities participate and what are the ambitions of the fund?
